HTC Viverse Introduces No-Code Virtual World Builder
HTC, renowned for its HTC Vive virtual reality headsets, has unveiled the Viverse Create platform—a no-code solution enabling users to build and share interactive virtual worlds effortlessly. This tool suite empowers creators to design multiplayer worlds accessible on any device, including VR headsets, mobiles, PCs, and Macs, without installations.
Andranik Aslanyan, head of growth at HTC Viverse, emphasized the ease of sharing creations with a simple, secure link, allowing users of all ages to experience virtual interactions. "The metaverse isn't dead; it’s just waiting for the rest of us to catch up," he stated.
Builders' Tools and Capabilities
Viverse Create offers two primary methods for constructing virtual environments:
- No-Code Tool: Users can craft worlds directly in their web browsers using an intuitive interface. It integrates with the Sketchfab library, providing access to millions of 3D models without needing specialized 3D skills. The platform also supports the VROID VRM format, allowing advanced users to import and use existing models.
- PlayCanvas: This is an advanced game engine-style tool for creating more interactive experiences. PlayCanvas allows both no-code and coding approaches, with seamless deployment to Viverse.
Polygon Streaming Technology
HTC’s recent Polygon Streaming technology complements Viverse Create, optimizing the delivery of high-fidelity 3D models across diverse devices. This technology minimizes bandwidth and processing power by streaming only necessary polygon data, enhancing accessibility regardless of the user's device.
Real-World Applications
Viverse Create proves instrumental in designing virtual outfits and managing multiple 3D assets within a single space. This democratized approach to immersive graphics ensures everyone can partake in next-generation interactivity, regardless of technical expertise.
