Coalition of Tech Companies Commit to Limiting Malicious Use of AI in Elections
A coalition of major technology companies, including OpenAI, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, TikTok, and social media platform X, have announced their commitment to limit the malicious use of deepfakes and other forms of artificial intelligence (AI) in manipulating or deceiving voters during democratic elections. The agreement, known as the AI elections accord, was unveiled at the Munich Security Conference and aims to make it harder for bad actors to exploit generative AI and other AI tools to deceive voters, especially in the upcoming crucial election year globally.
