SpaceX Launching Robotic Lunar Lander in Collaboration with NASA’s Artemis Mission
SpaceX is set to launch a Falcon 9 rocket on Wednesday at 12:57 a.m. EST from Kennedy Space Center’s pad 39A. The launch is part of the Intuitive Machines IM-1 mission, and the primary objective is to send a robotic lunar lander called Odysseus to the surface of the moon.
Under the guidance of NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services initiative and the Artemis campaign, Odysseus is being launched as part of SpaceX’s collaboration with the space agency.
Following stage separation, the Falcon 9 first-stage booster will attempt to land at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, which is expected to generate sonic booms along the Space Coast.
