Space DOTS, a startup founded by aerospace expert Bianca Cefalo, has secured $1.5 million in seed funding to advance its capabilities in detecting and interpreting threats in Earth’s orbit. “Nearly 15% of spacecraft experience anomalies or failures due to a lack of understanding of actual space conditions,” Cefalo explained. Unlike ground simulations, which only approximate orbital environments, Space DOTS generates proprietary in-orbit environmental data and integrates it with external sources through its SKY-I platform. The recent $1.5 million seed round was led by Female Founders Fund, with participation from Feel Ventures, Sie Ventures, and General Electric Company. This brings Space DOTS’ total funding to $3.2 million. The capital will support expansion of Space DOTS’ teams in London and the United States and prepare its technology for upcoming launches.
