LIMA, Peru – Peruvian telecommunications operator WIN is set to enhance the broadband connectivity experience in Lima with the deployment of Huawei’s symmetrical XGSPON technology. The move is expected to revolutionize the fiber optic infrastructure for residential homes and small businesses by offering symmetrical speeds of up to 10Gbps.

At present, WIN’s network relies on GPON technology, which supports speeds of up to 1Gbps. However, the implementation of Huawei’s XGSPON technology is set to bring a significant improvement, ensuring a more reliable and faster internet connection for users.

While trailing behind industry giants Telefónica and Claro, WIN recorded the highest growth rate in the number of users, achieving a remarkable 282% annual increase.

As Peru continues to embrace digital transformation and the demand for faster and more reliable internet connections grows, WIN’s collaboration with Huawei and the deployment of XGSPON technology is set to play a crucial role in meeting these evolving requirements.
