Canadian Customers to face Price Hike for Nest Aware
Google has announced that it will be increasing the price of its Nest Aware subscription service in Canada. This move follows a similar price increase that was announced last year in the United States. Customers in Canada received an email informing them that the price of Nest Aware Plus will be rising from CA$16 to CA$20 per month, resulting in an annual cost of CA$200. The base plan will now be priced at CA$10 per month or CA$100 annually.
What Does Nest Aware Offer?
Nest Aware is a subscription service that provides customers with various benefits. Both the base plan and Nest Aware Plus offer 30 days of event video history and intelligent alerts. Some of these alerts include features like Familiar faces, Smoke alarm, Carbon monoxide alarm, and Glass breaking notifications.
Changes in First-gen Nest Aware Pricing
In addition to the adjustments made to the pricing structure for Nest Aware and Nest Aware Plus, Google is also changing the pricing for its first-generation Nest Aware plans. Depending on the chosen package, which includes 5, 10, or 30 days of 24/7 video history and the number of cameras covered, customers will see their prices go up. The pricing for these plans will now range from CA$50 to CA$100, CA$80 to CA$160, or CA$110 to CA$220 per year. It's important to note that these changes were initially implemented in May 2020.
When Will the New Pricing Begin?
The new pricing for Nest Aware in Canada will come into effect starting from the next billing cycle on or after March 25, 2024. This means that customers will start seeing the increased prices on their bills after this date.
