macOS 14.4 Beta 4 Released to Developers, March Launch Expected
Apple has just made macOS 14.4 beta 4 available to developers, signaling a March release for the new operating system update. This latest beta brings a range of small new features to macOS 14.4, including an expanded selection of ringtones. However, the most exciting addition is the inclusion of 108 new emojis, featuring a lime, shaking heads, a phoenix, and four new gender-neutral family emojis.
In addition to these changes, Apple has also made some updates to its Music, Books, and Podcasts apps. The Listen Now tab has been renamed as Home, providing a more streamlined and user-friendly experience. However, there is a known bug in the Weather app that may cause it to crash on launch for Intel Macs. Fortunately, a fix is expected to be available before macOS 14.4 is rolled out to all users.
This upcoming update follows in the footsteps of macOS 14.3, which introduced several noteworthy features. One of these was the ability to collaborate on playlists in Apple Music, allowing friends to join in and contribute to your playlist. Users were also given the option to add emoji reactions to any track in a collaborative playlist. Additionally, Apple Care & Warranty in Settings now displays your coverage for all devices associated with your Apple ID.
As part of their ongoing efforts to improve their operating systems, Apple is also releasing the fourth test version of iOS 17.4, iPadOS 17.4, watchOS 10.4, and tvOS 17.4.
With the release of macOS 14.4 beta 4, developers and Apple enthusiasts can start getting a taste of the new features and improvements coming with this upcoming update.
