However, now the artificial plane of Rath is merging with Dominaria, and the weakened armies of the world are struggling to hold back the millions of new invaders.
Keldon War Leaders Betray Their Own People to Join Forces with the Phyrexians
In Keld, the prophecy of the Masques Block comes true, but not in the way the Keldon war leaders or the people expected. They are resurrected, but instead of fighting for their own people, they fight for the Phyrexians. The battle takes a devastating turn when a Keldon leader melts the glacier where most of the fight was occurring, drowning enemies and allies alike. However, a mysterious golden ship emerges from the Necropolis, saving most Keldons and Elves and carrying them to Urborg.
Agnate Infected with a Biomechanical Plague, Betrayed by Dralnu
The Weatherlight rescues a Minotaur army to support the duo of Agnate and Dralnu. However, Agnate becomes infected with a biomechanical plague, which he believes was caused by Dralnu. The truth is revealed when Agnate visits the medical bay, and he decides to relinquish his command to Grizzlegom, the leader of the Minotaurs. Grizzlegom mercy kills Agnate before slaughtering Dralnu for his treachery.
The Battle Intensifies and The Weatherlight Faces New Challenges
The planewide battle intensifies as the Weatherlight is attacked by the Phyrexian flagship, Predator. However, the crew manages to crash the enemy ship into the Phyrexian Stronghold, killing its captain Greven il-Vec. Just when the group is preparing to celebrate their victory, Ertai grabs Gerrard and Squee, teleporting them to Crovax’s location. Crovax offers Gerrard a deal to bring back fallen crew members from the dead, including navigator Hanna, in exchange for Gerrard’s loyalty to the machine empire.
The Primevals Awaken and Enter a Rampage
Nine Titans member Tevesh Szat informs dragon lord Darigaaz about the Primevals, ancient dragons that ruled Dominaria and had enough power to repel the invading forces. Darigaaz sets out to rescue them, even though the red Primeval is believed to be dead. When Darigaaz resurrects three of the Primevals, Rith reveals that the red Primeval is not dead but lives on as Darigaaz himself. The four dragons sacrifice themselves to awaken the final Primeval, Crosis, who then revives the rest and restores their power. However, the Primevals enter a rampage and begin slaughtering both Phyrexians and Dominarians without discrimination.
Urza and the Nine Titans Storm Phyrexia, but Face Betrayal
Urza and the Nine Titans prepare to storm Phyrexia and use “soul bombs” to destroy the plane. However, Tevesh Szat betrays the group, killing two members and angering Urza. In a rage, Urza activates a kill switch in Szat’s armor, killing him and using his energy to fuel the bomb array. Urza eventually reaches Phyrexia and is spellbound by the twisted beauty of the plane. Yawgmoth tries to convince Urza to join the wicked empire, revealing that Urza’s brother Mishra is still alive and being tortured. Despite this revelation, Urza submits to Yawgmoth’s will.
Overall, the battle between Dominaria and Phyrexia reaches its climax, with various betrayals and sacrifices along the way. The heroes face numerous challenges and sacrifices but continue to fight for the world they love.
