Starbucks Unveils Limited-Edition Sakura Collection for Hanami Season
Starbucks has revealed its highly anticipated annual limited-edition sakura collection, signaling the arrival of spring in Japan. The collection includes two beverages inspired by hanami dango sweets, a traditional Japanese treat associated with cherry blossom viewing. The drinks are said to capture the taste and aesthetic of hanami dango, making them a must-try for cherry blossom enthusiasts.

The first drink in the collection is the Hanami Dango Frappuccino. This refreshing beverage features pink, white, and green mochi pieces throughout, recreating the chewy texture of the sweet. The drink is further enhanced with a sweet white bean paste sauce, a cherry blossom and strawberry sauce, and soy milk. On top, Starbucks adds whipped cream, pink sakura fiantine, and hanami dango, creating a stunning visual representation of cherry blossom viewing.
For those seeking a warmer beverage, Starbucks offers the Hanami Sakura Cream. This drink combines steamed milk with a sweet white bean paste sauce and caramel flavored syrup. The result is a creamy and indulgent treat that represents the vibrant pink cherry blossoms in full bloom. This drink is also topped with crispy Sakura Fiantine, adding a delectable twist to traditional flower-viewing.
Augmented Reality Experiences and Limited Availability
To add excitement and engagement, Starbucks has introduced a series of augmented reality experiences for customers. By using a QR code and their camera, customers can capture images of their drinks with virtual cherry blossoms in full bloom. Both drinks will only be available for a limited time, from February 15 to March 12, while stocks last. The Hanami Dango Frappuccino is priced at 678 yen for takeout or 690 yen for eat-in, available in a tall size only. The Hanami Sakura Cream comes in Short through to Venti sizes, with prices ranging from 540-680 yen.
