Scopely Adds Former Riot Games Executive Mike Seavers as SVP for Technology
Scopely, a leading free-to-play game developer, has appointed Mike Seavers as its new Senior Vice President for Technology. Seavers previously served as the Chief Technical Officer at Riot Games and Yuta Labs.
Bringing Expertise from Gaming Giants
In a recent press release, Scopely highlighted Seavers' contributions to major games like League of Legends and Fortnite during his impressive 25-year career. Known for his ability to "scale audiences and communities," Seavers is expected to play a critical role at Scopely.
Leadership in Tech Innovation
Eunice Lee, Scopely's Chief Operating Officer, mentioned that Seavers would collaborate closely with co-founder Ankur Bulsara. Together, they will "shape the trajectory of Scopely’s technological expertise and ensure we’re leveraging emerging technologies to best enhance our player experiences and empower our world-class gamemakers."
Essential Cross-Platform Proficiency
Scopely praised Seavers' skills in cross-platform technology, essential for its games available on consoles. This comes at a time when Scopely titles like Monopoly Go! and Marvel Strike Force are experiencing significant success and ongoing player engagement.
Setting Ambitions High
"Cross-platform hits like Stumble Guys underscore Scopely's ambition to create even more immersive and unforgettable experiences," said Seavers. "I look forward to collaborating with the team to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation."
Recent Leadership Additions
In addition to Seavers, Scopely also brought on Bob Loya in March. Loya oversees partnerships with external studios and, like Seavers, is part of Scopely's strategy to achieve its larger ambitions.
By integrating industry veterans like Seavers and Loya, Scopely aims to bolster its position as a leader in the gaming sector, continually enhancing player experiences through innovative technologies.
