IGN to Launch In-Person Gaming Event to Bring Communities Together

Just over a year after the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) came to an end, media company IGN has exciting news for the gaming community. IGN recently announced its plans to kick off its own in-person “consumer experience” called IGN Live. This three-day event aims to unite gamers, creators, developers, journalists, and enthusiasts from around the world to celebrate beloved brands and franchises.

Scheduled for early June in Los Angeles, IGN Live promises attendees access to world-class talent, parties, networking events, and unique attractions. Gamers can look forward to exploring the latest video games and entertainment exhibits, participating in tournaments, and watching live presentations of IGN shows. The event is strategically planned for June, as it traditionally serves as the ideal month for gaming publishers and developers to unveil new titles and reveal upcoming information about their games.

In addition to the in-person event, IGN Live will also be available for streaming through various platforms. This includes gaming consoles, mobile apps, IGN’s digital network, YouTube, connected TV services, and IGN’s social media accounts. IGN is no stranger to virtual events, as they successfully launched their virtual video game event, Summer of Gaming, in 2020. The upcoming fifth installment of Summer of Gaming will also have an in-person component at IGN Live this summer.

IGN Entertainment president Yael Prough expressed the company’s excitement for the event, stating, “For nearly three decades, we have fueled fandoms that drive the most diverse and beloved games and entertainment into the zeitgeist.” Prough added, “Fans and partners have voiced their demand for a physical space where the community can come together in person to celebrate the industry’s most exciting innovations.”

Los Angeles was chosen as the host city for IGN Live due to its abundance of gaming and entertainment talent and creators. The City of Los Angeles chief tourism officer, Doane Liu, expressed enthusiasm for the event, saying, “L.A. continues to offer world-leading experiences for businesses and consumers alike.” Liu added, “We look forward to continuing this legacy with IGN in June of 2024 and for years to come.”

With IGN Live set to launch in June, gamers and industry professionals are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to come together, celebrate their shared passion, and experience the future of gaming firsthand.
