Boat Story from Fleabag producers Harry and Jack Williams to premiere on Freevee on March 12
The highly anticipated series Boat Story, created by the acclaimed producers behind Fleabag, Harry and Jack Williams, is set to make its debut on Freevee on March 12. Following its successful run in the UK, where it garnered critical acclaim and attracted an impressive average of 5 million viewers per episode, this marks the Williams’ first foray into directing.
Originally aired late last year in the UK, the gripping BBC co-production centers around two strangers, portrayed by Daisy Haggard and Paterson Joseph, who stumble upon a shipwrecked boat filled with cocaine. Captivated by the opportunity, they agree to sell the drugs and divide the profits amongst themselves. However, their cunning plan quickly becomes a perilous journey as they find themselves being pursued by the police, masked hitmen, and a notorious gangster aptly named “The Tailor”.
Daisy Haggard, known for her roles in the US television series Breeders for FX/Sky and Back To Life, delivers a compelling performance alongside Paterson Joseph. The ensemble cast also features the talents of Tcheky Karyo, Joanna Scanlan, Craig Fairbrass, Phil Daniels, and Ethan Lawrence.
Freevee, in collaboration with boat Story as a US co-producer, has expressed unwavering support for the show’s unique tone. In addition to its US broadcast, Freevee has secured the rights for Germany, with the show set to launch there on April 18.
