NTT DOCOMO, NTT, and NCS to Test EV-Enabled Power Recovery System

NTT DOCOMO, NIPPON TELEGRAPH AND TELEPHONE CORPORATION (NTT), and NIPPON CAR SOLUTIONS CO., LTD. (NCS) are set to conduct a demonstration experiment on January 12, 2022. The experiment, aimed at enhancing disaster response measures during power outages, will focus on a base station power recovery system that utilizes electric vehicles (EVs). The test will examine the feasibility of using EVs as a power source to enable uninterrupted communication during emergencies. By leveraging the electric power generated by EVs, this innovative approach could provide a reliable and sustainable solution for maintaining connectivity during disasters.
