Google Commits 25 Million Euros to Promote Artificial Intelligence Education in Europe

Google, the tech giant, has announced that it is pledging 25 million euros ($26.98 million) to support the education and training of individuals in Europe regarding artificial intelligence (AI). The funding, unveiled on Monday, will be allocated to social enterprises and nonprofits that can effectively reach the target audience who will benefit the most from this training.

In addition to the financial support, Google will establish a series of “growth academies” to assist companies in scaling their operations through the utilization of AI. Furthermore, the company will expand its collection of free online AI training courses to encompass 18 different languages, making it accessible to a wider global audience.

Addressing the concern that the implementation of AI may increase existing inequalities, particularly in terms of economic security and employment, Adrian Brown, the executive director of the Centre for Public Impact, which is partnering with Google on the initiative, emphasized the importance of this program in empowering individuals in Europe to enhance their knowledge, skills, and confidence with AI.

This recent commitment follows Google’s previous announcement of a $1 billion investment in constructing a state-of-the-art data center near London. The aim is to meet the escalating demand for internet services in the region. Located on a 33-acre site in Waltham Cross, just 15 miles north of central London, this data center is anticipated to support the company’s efforts in serving its growing customer base.

With AI playing an increasingly vital role in various industries, Google’s dedication to promoting AI education and supporting AI-driven businesses underscores the importance of equipping individuals and organizations in Europe with the necessary tools and skills to thrive in an AI-driven future.
