Florida Senate Committee Approves Bill on AI Disclosure in Campaign Ads

A Florida Senate committee has given its approval to legislation that would require campaigns to disclose the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in political ads. Senate Bill 850, introduced by Republican Senator Nick DiCeglie, aims to address concerns about the integrity of elections and to regulate misleading and deceptive campaign content that employs generative AI. The bill would require political ads to display disclaimers when using AI-generated images, audio, or text. Senator DiCeglie argues that as AI technology advances rapidly, government regulations must keep up to ensure transparency and accountability in campaigns.
