Police crackdown on obscene livestreaming apps with 100,000 users
Authorities in Tongliao, Inner Mongolia, have recently taken down three mobile apps involved in an obscenity case that had amassed over 100,000 registered users. According to a statement from the Tongliao Public Security Bureau, the apps were accused of broadcasting live obscene performances, with financial transactions connected to the case amounting to nearly 100 million yuan ($14 million).
