Grand County Sheriff’s deputies rescue stranded motorists in deep snow

Grand County Sheriff’s deputies were called into action on Monday as they helped rescue several motorists who had become stranded in deep snow. The drivers had followed directions from mapping apps that directed them to alternative routes due to the closure of Berthoud Pass. The pass, located around 30 miles west of Denver, had experienced significant snowfall over the Martin Luther King Jr. Day weekend, creating “very dangerous” avalanche conditions.
