Apple announced its AI initiative in June, highlighting enhancements like an improved Siri voice assistant and capabilities such as auto-generating emails and images. While these features will be introduced gradually, some regions like China and Europe may initially be excluded. Analysts suggest Apple could charge a subscription fee for accessing these premium features.

Monetization of Services

Apple's services division reported $24.2 billion in revenue in the June quarter, showcasing its success in monetizing software where many hardware companies have not. Ben Wood, Chief of Research at CCS Insight, notes that Apple has set an expectation among its users to pay for premium services, which could extend to Apple's AI offerings.

This pricing strategy isn't unique to Apple. Tech firms like OpenAI and Microsoft also charge for advanced AI functionalities. Moreover, Apple's rival, Samsung, is assessing revenue models for its Galaxy AI services.
