Starbucks Korea Launches ‘STARBUCKS STAR★LIGHT’ NFT Project
Starbucks Korea has recently announced the launch of its groundbreaking NFT (Non-Fungible Token) project, ‘STARBUCKS STAR★LIGHT’. This initiative marks the first of its kind for the renowned coffee chain in Asia and aims to encourage customers to incorporate the use of personal cups in their daily lives. In exchange for their eco-friendly choice, Starbucks is offering limited edition NFTs as rewards.
Earn Limited Edition NFTs by Using Personal Cups at Starbucks
As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the digital experience for Starbucks® Rewards members, the company has introduced collectible digital artwork in the form of NFTs. The ‘STARBUCKS STAR★LIGHT’ project allows customers to earn these exclusive NFTs by ordering their favorite beverages through the Siren Order mobile app using their personal cups. Each purchase earns customers one Eco Stamp, with a maximum of three Eco Stamps per day.
How to Collect Eco Stamps and Unlock Exclusive NFTs
To obtain the limited edition NFTs, customers need to collect a certain number of Eco Stamps. Starbucks customers can redeem their Eco Stamps for NFTs in three different tiers. The ‘BASIC NFT’ tier requires five Eco Stamps for one NFT, while the ‘CREATIVE NFT’ tier can be unlocked by collecting fifteen Eco Stamps and offers a limited edition NFT with 20,000 copies available. The highest tier, ‘ARTIST NFT’, is obtainable with twenty Eco Stamps and grants access to a limited edition NFT limited to only 1,000 copies.
Collaborative Digital Artworks Featured in Starbucks NFT Collection
To bring this unique NFT project to life, Starbucks has collaborated with ‘Print Bakery’, Korea’s largest digital art platform. The NFT collection showcases diverse digital artwork from both local artists and artist ‘DADAZ’. The designs reflect the concept of ‘My Own Cup’ and highlight reusable cups and tumblers. This collaboration celebrates the creativity and talent of Korean artists while promoting Starbucks’ commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly practices.
Starbucks Korea Showcases NFT Art Exhibition at Jongno R Store
To commemorate the launch of the ‘STARBUCKS STAR★LIGHT’ NFT project, Starbucks Korea is hosting an exhibition featuring the NFT artworks from local Korean artists. The exhibition is taking place at Starbucks® Jongno R store in Seoul and will run until the end of January. This showcase not only celebrates the NFT collection but also emphasizes Starbucks’ dedication to sustainability. By featuring eco-friendly practices alongside the NFT artworks, Starbucks aims to inspire customers to integrate the use of personal cups into their daily lives.
“We hope that customers visiting Starbucks will integrate the use of personal cups into their daily lives and enjoy the unique experience of owning their very own NFT,” said Ryan Sohn, CEO of Starbucks Korea. He also mentioned that Starbucks Korea will continue to introduce various promotions that offer eco-friendly benefits to their customers.
It is important to note that each customer can only receive one NFT per account, and the functionality of the Starbucks NFTs will be limited, with restrictions on gifting, selling, or trading. Nevertheless, the ‘STARBUCKS STAR★LIGHT’ NFT project presents an exciting opportunity for Starbucks customers to embrace eco-friendly practices while immersing themselves in the world of digital collectibles.
