France Stocks Show Mixed Results in Tuesday’s Trading Session
France stocks experienced mixed results in Tuesday’s trading session. The CAC 40 index fell by 0.84%, while another index saw a 0.55% increase.
Among the top performers on the CAC 40 were Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA, which rose by 6.88% to 32.93 at market close. Veolia Environnement VE SA also saw gains, with 1.06% growth to 29.56, and TotalEnergies SE was up by 0.80%, closing at 60.30.
On the other hand, ArcelorMittal SA experienced a 4.19% decline, trading at 25.37 at market close. Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE also saw a 4.17% decline, ending the session at 69.36, while STMicroelectronics NV saw a 3.53% decrease, closing at 41.68.
Looking at the SBF 120 index, the top performers were Beneteau SA with a 7.50% increase to 12.32, Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA with a 6.88% rise to 32.93, and ALD SA with a 2.45% gain, settling at 5.44.
Conversely, the worst performers were CGG SA with a 5.89% decline to 0.38, Orpea SA remaining unchanged at 0.01, and Atos SE experiencing a 5.02% drop to 2.40 at market close.
In terms of market breadth, falling stocks outweighed advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange, with 347 declining, 171 advancing, and 98 unchanged.
Specifically, shares in Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA reached 52-week highs, rising 6.88% or 2.12 to 32.93. Conversely, shares in CGG SA reached all-time lows, falling 5.89% or 0.02 to 0.38. Shares in Orpea SA remained unchanged at all-time lows, staying at 0.01. Lastly, shares in Atos SE also reached all-time lows, falling 5.02% or 0.13 to 2.40.
Shifting to commodities, gold futures for delivery in April saw a 1.22% decline, trading at $2,008.15 per troy ounce. Crude oil for delivery in March experienced a 1.34% increase, reaching $77.95 per barrel. Meanwhile, the April Brent oil contract rose 1.02%, trading at $82.84 per barrel.
In foreign exchange markets, the EUR/USD pair saw a 0.50% decrease, now at 1.07, while the EUR/GBP pair remained unchanged, with 0.32% stability at 0.85. The US Dollar Index Futures advanced by 0.61%, reaching 104.68.
