Culinary Local 226 Officials Warn of Possible Strike Deadline at Vegas-Area Hotel-Casinos
Culinary Local 226 officials are raising the possibility of a strike deadline at more than 20 Vegas-area hotel-casinos in the coming days. The union is seeking a new five-year contract for over 7,000 workers. The contract for these workers expired on June 1, 2023, and negotiations have been ongoing. If the strike deadline is called, it would affect 21 downtown Las Vegas and independent Strip hotel-casinos, as well as two more in Northern Nevada. The Culinary Union is hopeful that a strike will hasten the negotiation process and lead to a favorable contract agreement for its members.
