Just Eat Takeaway and Amazon Join Forces for Free Food Delivery in Europe
Just Eat Takeaway.com has announced an exciting partnership with Amazon to offer free delivery for Prime members in three European countries: Germany, Austria, and Spain.
Just Eat Takeaway, Europe’s largest food delivery group, will launch this collaboration through its Lieferando brand in Germany and Austria, and Just Eat in Spain. The company believes this partnership will be "mutually beneficial" for Amazon Prime subscribers and Just Eat Takeaway partners.
"This is a fantastic opportunity to further empower consumers’ everyday convenience, while driving more customer loyalty and affordability," said Just Eat Takeaway Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Kenny.
What Amazon Prime Members Will Get
Amazon Prime members will get early access to Just Eat Takeaway’s new loyalty program called "Plus." This program will include exclusive deals and discounts at selected restaurants and retailers. By linking their Prime and Just Eat Takeaway accounts, customers can enjoy free delivery through Plus on orders above 15 euros.
Expanding a Successful Partnership
This partnership in Europe follows Amazon's recent expansion with Just Eat Takeaway's U.S. business, Grubhub. This indicates the growing confidence and synergy between the two companies.
The Amsterdam-listed shares of Just Eat Takeaway saw a slight increase in mid-morning trading after the announcement, reflecting positive investor sentiment.
This collaboration is seen as a valuable step for both companies, aiming to enhance customer convenience and promote loyalty and affordability.
