Dan Ives Takes Helm at Eightco Holdings to Acquire Worldcoin for Treasury

Dan Ives, Wedbush Securities’ global head of technology research, has been named chairman of Eightco Holdings, a small Nasdaq-listed company planning to pivot its treasury strategy around Worldcoin (WLD), the native token of the blockchain developed by OpenAI co-founder Sam Altman’s biometric identity startup, World.

Eightco Holdings, which currently trades under the ticker “OCTO,” announced a $250 million private placement aimed at purchasing Worldcoin tokens to hold as its main treasury asset. The offering is slated to close around September 11, after which Eightco intends to change its ticker symbol to “ORBS.”
