Aleph Zero Launches EVM-Compatible Layer-2
Aleph Zero, a blockchain ecosystem known for speed, data confidentiality, and development ease, has announced the launch of its new EVM-compatible Layer-2 solution on the mainnet. This move expands Aleph Zero's presence in the blockchain ecosystem by enhancing its zkOS privacy-enhancing solutions.
Fast and Efficient Blockchain
In collaboration with Gelato, a leading Rollup-as-a-Service provider, and utilizing Arbitrum Orbit technology, Aleph Zero's EVM Layer-2 is designed for high-speed transactions. With a block time as fast as 250 milliseconds and the ability to process thousands of transactions per second, it stands out as one of the quickest EVM-compatible chains.
Substrate-Based WASM
The Layer-2 solution operates on Aleph Zero's Substrate-based WASM Layer-1 blockchain as its Data Availability layer, supported by a network of over 190 validator nodes. The AZERO token, already in use on Layer-1, will also power gas transactions on Layer-2.
zkOS Framework for Privacy
Set to arrive in Q4, Aleph Zero's zkOS brings a comprehensive privacy framework to its EVM-Layer. This toolkit simplifies the integration of privacy features into blockchain apps, making technologies like Zero Knowledge Proofs more user-friendly and efficient. zkOS optimizes proof generation to under a second on consumer devices, enhancing user experience and reducing costs for blockchain applications.
