Microsoft to Launch Copilot for Microsoft 365 Premium Service for Colleges and Universities on April 1
Microsoft is set to unveil Copilot for Microsoft 365, a premium service catering to colleges and universities, starting April 1. The paid add-on will be made available to higher education institutions, specifically for students who already possess a Microsoft 365 or Office 365 A3/A5 license.
In a bid to ensure commercial data protection for students under the age of 18, Microsoft plans to introduce a private preview program for Copilot in the spring of 2024.
Moreover, Microsoft is planning to roll out new features to Reading Progress and Microsoft Teams for Education in late March, at no extra cost. These additions aim to assist teachers in leveraging AI services for tasks such as creating rubrics, assignment instructions, personalized reading material, and learning objectives.
In addition, Microsoft will be launching two new tools in a private preview for educators. The first, called Math Progress, will help students identify and address their academic struggles in real-time. The second tool, Math Coach, will provide students with real-time coaching on mathematical problem-solving, utilizing AI technology.
Furthermore, Microsoft is introducing the Microsoft Education AI Toolkit, a comprehensive resource to aid school leaders in developing AI-driven plans for their institutions. Additionally, the tech giant is set to offer Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, a service aimed at beefing up the security of students’ PCs. This service will be available at a discounted rate for all Microsoft 365 A5 subscribers.
