American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council Annual Meeting and Exhibition
American Trucking Associations’ Technology & Maintenance Council kicked off its annual meeting and transportation technology exhibition in New Orleans, Louisiana. The event focuses on critical industry issues such as reducing emissions, automation, and improving safety, with the goal of raising professional and technical standards for the trucking industry.
ATA President and CEO Chris Spear highlighted the significance of the annual meeting as a platform for industry members to discuss and learn about the latest advances in truck technology. The theme of “Quality Spec’ing for Optimal Performance” includes educational sessions, task force meetings, technical sessions, and management sessions. Approximately 350 vendors are showcasing their leading-edge technologies for fleet maintenance management at the exhibition.
According to TMC Executive Director Robert Braswell, the council has been dedicated to elevating the industry’s professional and technical standards for nearly 70 years. The annual meeting enables members to explore the latest innovations in the field and engage in discussions on truck technology advancements.
Technical sessions at the event cover various topics such as electric power providers, findings from the U.S. Department of Energy’s SuperTruck 2 & 3 Programs, communication strategies for engineers and technical experts, data-driven asset management, engine oil selection for fleets, and quality maintenance specifications.
The exhibition highlights a special pavilion showcasing next-generation tractor-trailer electrical and data connector designs. Attendees can participate in ride and drive demonstrations and view static demonstration displays.
TMC General Chairman and Treasurer Todd Cotier expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration in New Orleans, expecting valuable solutions to technical industry challenges and the chance to experience the latest truck technology advancements. The annual meeting builds on the success of the council’s previous gatherings.
