South Korean Games Publisher Come2uS Partners with Oasys Network to Launch Web3 Games in Japan
South Korean mobile and online games publisher Come2uS has teamed up with Japan-based gaming platform Oasys Network to introduce Web3 games on the Oasys chain. This partnership is part of Come2uS’s expansion plans in the Japanese market, leveraging Oasys’ globally recognized intellectual property (IP) to launch two Web3 games within the first half of 2024. The technical support required to establish a layer-2 network in compliance with Japanese regulations will be provided by Oasys’ core team to Come2uS’s Web3 subsidiary, XPLA. The aim is to tap into Japan’s thriving gaming market, the third-largest globally.
This collaboration is not Come2uS’s first venture into the realm of Web3. The company joined forces with Firefly Games and The Sandbox last year to create MetaWorld Entertainment, a metaverse-based platform featuring concert events and immersive Web3 gaming experiences. Additionally, Come2uS invested in Spaceport’s pre-seed round, a Web3 licensing protocol that raised $3.6 million.
Under the new partnership, Come2uS will bring its popular gaming titles, Summoners War: Chronicle and The Walking Dead: All Stars, to the Oasys gaming network. Joining major video game publishers like SoftBank, Sega, and Ubisoft, Come2uS aligns with Oasys in collaborating to expand their gaming offerings.
Oasys has also been active in enhancing its gaming network by collaborating with the NFT platform X2Y2 to provide more immersive experiences. Furthermore, Oasys expanded its presence in the gaming and decentralized applications (dApps) space after integrating with DappRadar earlier this year.
