Germany Stocks Reach New All-Time High as Various Sectors Drive Gains
Germany stocks closed higher on Monday, with gains in multiple sectors propelling shares to a new all-time high. The DAX index ended the day up 0.65%. Other indexes also saw increases, with the MDAX climbing 1.42% and the TecDAX adding 0.43%.
One of the standout performers on the DAX was Siemens Energy AG, which rose by 5.01% to trade at €14.47 at the close. Rheinmetall AG also had a strong showing, gaining 3.65% to end at €348.90, while Zalando SE was up 3.40% to €19.62.
On the downside, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. experienced a fall of 2.59% to trade at €335.00 at the close. Airbus Group SE declined by 0.35% to end at €149.98, and SAP SE was down 0.33% to €167.76.
In the MDAX, top performers included Nordex SE O.N., which rose by 9.50% to €10.41, Delivery Hero AG, up by 4.50% to €19.32, and Hensoldt Ag, gaining 3.64% to close at €31.28. Meanwhile, Nemetschek AG O.N. was among the worst performers, down 1.69% to €88.66.
For the TecDAX, Nordex SE O.N. also led the gains, increasing by 9.50% to €10.41. ADTRAN Holdings Inc was up by 8.13% to €6.15, and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. gained 5.25% to close at €33.70.
Overall, rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
Shares in Rheinmetall AG reached all-time highs, up by 3.65% to €348.90. The measure of implied volatility for DAX options experienced a slight uptick of 1.31% to 13.94.
In the commodities market, crude oil for delivery in March slightly declined by 0.12% to $76.75 a barrel, and the April Brent oil contract fell by 0.43% to $81.84 a barrel. Gold futures for April delivery decreased by 0.43% to $2,029.95 a troy ounce.
Currency movements included EUR/USD, which remained virtually unchanged at 1.08, and EUR/GBP, also unchanged at 0.85. The US Dollar Index Futures saw a minor decrease of 0.02% to 103.98.
