Akoustis Secures Significant Order for Next-Generation Wi-Fi 7 Filters
Akoustis Technologies, Inc., a leader in high-band RF filters, has recently announced a major order for its next-generation Wi-Fi 7 filters from a top-tier customer. The order comes from a US-based carrier with over 32 million residential customers and will be instrumental in supporting the customer’s planned production increase in the September quarter of 2024.
The order includes Akoustis’ 5.5 GHz and 6.5 GHz XBAW® filters, which will be integrated into the customer’s routers. These filters have been specifically designed to seamlessly coexist with U-NII 5 through 8 and U-NII 1 through 3. With a compact size of 1.6 x 1.8 mm, they are ideal for small carrier routers and offer reduced latency, enhancing overall router performance.
One of the key advantages of Akoustis’ filters is their ability to support improved Wi-Fi 7 data rates of up to approximately 46 Gbps, a significant increase compared to the maximum data rate of Wi-Fi 6E.
